Commenting on a blog: How will it help you?
A well maintained blog will have high search engine rankings because of the frequently updated content. Having your website link on a high traffic blog can be very good for your own website rankings as well, and for your traffic! So, most people’s first reaction is to jump in and start their own blog. But, with thousands upon thousands of blogs out there, it takes a lot of time and possibly even a financial investment, to get a blog off the ground successfully. That being said, there are ways to use other people's blogs to promote your website, and commenting is one of those ways!
Many blogs will allow you to give feedback on individual posts, in fact many encourage it. Unless the blog is specifically there to promote a company or product, the comments will in fact boost the search engine rankings and reader interest in the blog!
How do you benefit? Well, posting a comment allows you to share your own thoughts and ideas, and at the same time, you can include your own link when you sign your post!
Having your link on a high traffic blog will boost your search engine rankings. I spend a little time each week searching for new blog posts related to weddings and posting my thoughts with my link. For these types of comments, you want to search for your key words and post comments on blog posts that include those same keywords.
Posting comments regularly on the same blog can also be beneficial, provide the blog’s readers are in your target market. When a loyal reader sees the same person contributing to the blog over and over, you begin to build a rapport with them. For that reason, I have also picked out 2 blogs that I visit and comment on regularly.
It is important in this case to make sure the both the blog itself and the posts you pick to comment on are relevant to your website and target market. If your target market is moms, posting regularly on a wedding blog would be pointless. But posting regularly on a blog specifically for moms, like mine, would be perfect.
It is also important to make sure that all your comments are relevant and actually add something to the blog. Posting: “Nice Post, Crystal, http://chryscrossbridal.com “ is not commenting – it is spam, and most blogs will delete it. Pick posts where you can share additional advice, or your own experiences or thoughts.
And the last thing to remember when commenting: try to avoid topics that will lead to controversial discussions (abortion, same sex marriage, etc). While it is good to have an opinion on those topics, engaging in a “blog battle” will simple make your business look very unprofessional. You want to maintain professionalism any time your business is linked to your words.
I enjoy having people involved in my blogs, and at Two Moms In A Blog, we actually have a section in our newsletter were we share suggestions for posts were comments could be made!

Taking your customer Serious
WAHM Customer Responsibilty Lesson
Copyright 2005 Author, Nancy Johnson
We hear this all the time My Family comes first.
And in truth one of the nice things about working from home is being able to be there for your family, and being flexible. But that doesn't alway mean we can do as we please.
But when you take on a business you take on certain responsibilites.
You need to be serious about your customers.
When people purchase from you it is an honor and a blessing.
And as a business owner you have said you are willing to take on Certain responsibilty that may sometime over ride family issues.
When someone purchases from you they have the Right to expect you will take they sales serious. That they will come first when it comes to you delivering on that Promise you made when you offered your items for sale.
They have the right to know that you will fo fill your end of the bargin in a timely manner and not just get busy with family issues and ignore them.
In business the customer comes first and if you cannot respect them you will lose them. If you do not answer emails in a timely manner,or fo fill the order in a timely manner you will loose them.
Now sometime emergencies will come up BUT as a business owner it is up to you to make sure that is doesn't interfier with orders you have, and promises you make to your customers.
When you accept an order from a customer you are creating a Promise, and a legal responsibility to take care of that customer. Treat your cusotomer in the speedy orderly fashion you would want to be treated.
Sometime so called WAHMS treat their business more as a hobby than a business, imagine that you wanted to go to the grocery store and get milk, but when you got there no one was there no, note, not reason just no one was there. What would you think about that business or company? Offering your product for sale to the public and creating
a sale bond with your customer is no different.
